Gasunie therefore does everything in its power to prevent that. As many as ten trial trenches can be dug to make sure where cables and pipelines are located. To prevent excavation damage, MapXact uses ground radar survey to scan underground infrastructure to a depth of four metres. This way we get a picture of cables and pipelines to the nearest millimetre. We then convert the ground radar maps to 3D visualisation.
