Is it viable? That is the first question when people decide to roll out fibre. MapXact was commissioned by the telecom company Deutsche Glasfaser to do an exact mapping of the potential connections of over a hundred German locations. Using 360° photography and 3D scans we drew the optimal network to roll out fibre.
AN OPTIMAL TELECOM NETWORK WITH 360° PHOTOS AND 3D SCANS
How many home connections are there in a specific location or area? And how much will it cost to roll out fibre there? These were the two questions that the telecom network Deutsche Glasfaser put to MapXact. Based on 360° photos and 3D scans we drew an exact picture of the potential connections. We then drew up the best possible route for the network, down to the metre.
MAPXACT HAS EXPERIENCE IN TELECOM NETWORKS
MapXact knows its way in telecom, has a solid grasp of engineering, and is an expert in mobile mapping. This combination of disciplines enables us to give a detailed perspective on costs. We also map out the optimal route for fibre rollout. All of this we put together in a user-friendly 3D visualisation. Need to add or remove a neighbourhood? Just press a button to see how it will impact costs. A comprehensive solution that means Deutsche Glasfaser will not come across surprises.
MAPXACT’S BENEFITS FOR TELECOM NETWORKS AND FIBRE ROLLOUT:
- Reliable, detailed baseline measurement
- Predictable scheduling of telecom network
- Optimal efficiency
- Full understanding of the costs of laying fibre before demand-bundling starts
- Ten times less expensive than regular telecom network engineering
